My Better Board by Sullivan arrived this week. Took it out and read the instructions–it says to place the foam down before the cover. There I’d no foam, but there is a piece of felt. A cotton cover and a piece of felt isn’t going to shield the heart from the laminated board. It needs a real heat-resistant cover. On top of that, the covert I revived is dirty. I’m hoping to have to wash it before I put it anywhere near my quilt pieces.
I think my biggest concern is that the board is heavy and my normal ironing board isn’t as steady with this on top. I’m worried about it tipping over.
My next project will be finding a way to stabilize the whole unit and making a heat-resistant cover, so that it is usable.
