What Is Quilt Basting Spray

Quilt Basting Spray is a spray used to bond either cotton or polyester batting to the top layer and lining of your quilt. With a quick, light spraying our spray shortens the basting time by about 10 minutes and holds the fabric layers together tightly without shifting or tunneling your fabric. QBS is a helpful tool for quilting projects of all shapes and sizes. The basting spray forms a non-permanent bond so that material can be shifted and repositioned as necessary. To reactivate the basting spray, simply lightly steam your fabric with an iron.

Quilt Basting Spray Tips

Quilt basting is a simple process but there are important steps to keep in mind when using our spray. You generally want to hold your basting spray about a foot above the quilt surface you are spraying it on. You may also use your spray from outdoors or in a well ventilated area like a garage. Fumes from the quilt basting spray can be harmful so it’s best to be used in with the windows open so it doesn’t linger. Spraying outside can also be beneficial because it can be a dirty process.
